Last weekend we had our amazing trip to Scotland! It was such a beautiful place and everyone really loved it. We traveled to so many different areas in just four days. We took a train on Thursday and spent the first night walking around the amazing city of Edinburgh.

The next day we were off with our great tour guide, who took us through the mountains and breathtaking landscapes of the Scottish Highlands. We stopped at the William Wallace monument, Glencoe (where, on one of the mountainsides, they superimposed the image of Hogwarts castle in Harry Potter), and Eilean Donan Castle.
We then headed over to Isle of Skye, where we stayed at a hostel in a cute little village on the coast. The next day we explored the island and stopped to admire and take some pictures of the waterfalls, rivers, and mountains. I really loved Kilt Rock, which comprised spectacular sea-cliffs and a jaw-dropping waterfall.
That night we stayed in Fort Augustus, where we got to see a great little show about how the Highlanders would have lived, dressed, and some of the weapons they used. On Sunday, we stopped at Urquhart Castle and the Culloden Battlefield. And of course it wouldn’t be a trip to Scotland without visiting Loch Ness! We got to go down and dip or hands and feet in the waters, but unfortunately no one spotted the elusive monster.
I really loved seeing Scotland, and all of the breathtakingly beautiful landscapes. All of the waterfalls, rivers, hills, and mountains truly were amazing to see. I don’t think I have ever seen or ever will see anywhere as beautiful as Scotland.

  1. I lived in Scotland with my 2 young sons for 2 years in the mid 80's and it looks exactly the same.
Thanks so much for bringing back all the memories! After 2 years, I did miss the object in the sky we almost never saw - the Sun!!!
